605.87 No aeronautical product shall be maintained in accordance with a maintenance schedule that is different from the one under which it was previously maintained unless (a) the aeronautical product has been subjected to an inspection that establishes it on the new maintenance schedule; and (b) the times remaining until each action on the new maintenance schedule is to be taken have been established in accordance with the Aircraft Equipment and Maintenance Standards .
